Have been comming to this site for a few months now, You guys rock!!
Just starting out into the big guys now. looking to build my first real tank hoping to get around 1000litres + probably timber with front glass but free standing. I have about 7 tanks at the moment and breed malawi cichlids. species I have are blue peacock, O.B. peacock, Lithobates, Maingano, Blue dolphin, electric yellow.
tanganyikan species include 2 types of frontosa,leptosoma, juli transcriptus, calvus, compressiceps, multifasciatus.
other species australian native rainbowfish, native gudgeon, albino and common bristle nose cats, plecos, smelt (native feeders), cherubin (native prawn), salmon tail catfish.
and not to forget the first of the big boys a juvenile peacock bass. this probably doesnt seem like much to you guys but Australia is really clamping down on big imported predatory fish. I hope to get my tank done before they change the laws again and we cant get these type of fish at all. I will also run in the big tank native saratoga (like arowana) Murray Cod ( they get huge), and anything I can get before the new proposed laws come in. Hope to meet some great people and get more great info and share any info that may help others.
