Hello All! My name is Jay and I live in Virginia. I started my journey with fish when I was 18. I made a lot of mistakes and my journey was short-lived. I sold all my fish equipment and got into reptiles and I am now really big into reptiles. I breed ball pythons and corn snakes and I hope to branch out into many different species in the coming years. Now, my husband is about to have a heart attack because I have found my way back to the world of fish and that is yet another money drainer as many people know.
I am only just starting out and starting from scratch (knowledge wise). I'm considering myself the most basic beginner. I know very little about keeping fish but I hope I can gain the knowledge and experience to be an avid fishkeeper.
I only have 2 tanks running right now. A 2.5 gallon tank (some monster, huh?) with a betta fish (he thinks he's a monster) and a 10g tank with a common pleco (I know, I know! Too small of a tank!) and 2 gold (or blue?) rams. I am well aware this tank is overstocked. The pleco is my husband's new baby. I want the best for this pleco and he is under my care so I am here to learn and hopefully my efforts will pay off when one day I post a picture of a big, healthy pleco......in a huge tank....in a room...with a ton of other tanks! Goodness, look at me, getting all excited.
If only I could make a living breeding reptiles and fish. I'd be one happy camper. We have plans to move soon (currently living with family) and when we do, we are getting a much bigger tank for Ollie (pleco).
Oh, and might I mention I love predatory fish. I love oscars, arowanas, and other fish like them and I hope to keep some of them someday. For now, I am here to learn and drool over everyone's fish.
