Hello, all! My name is Lauri and I joined the forum to get some ideas for a plywood tank.

My current setups are as follows:

1 19 gal tank with 1 large Pleco, 1 small Pleco and 5 tetras
1 39 gal tank with too many goldfish

Because my 'big' tank is too small I need to go bigger and, after doing some research, have deiced to REALLY go bigger!

My plan is for a tank roughly 3' tall, by 4' long by 2' deep ... for my FIRST tank.

Then the plan is to build another tank the same size on the other side of the wall and put a waterway between the two of them for the fish to travel through.

Both tanks will be cold water tanks for goldfish and koi.

I'm off to read more on the DIY plywood tanks! :)

Ok, so after reading up on the tank size requirements for Koi I've decided to plan an outdoor pond for them and make my inside tank just for tropical fish.

I think it would be cheaper to just buy a 75g-125g off craigslist for your tropical fish than to build a plywood tank

& ya, koi can get up to 3' so its better to have a pond...& sorry, I have no clue about building ponds :(

welcome to mfk Lauri.. nice to meet you and welcome to this great forum
