I have 7 frontosas ranging in size from 2.5-3.5". They wont eat. I've tried cichlid pellets, flakes, lettus and they wont touch any of them. I read that you can sometimes temp them to eat using live brine shrimp. Would they even be able to see it?

Any thoughts?

add raw beef to the list

How long did you have the fronts?

since Thursday

give them time....

My 10 front took a week before he started to eat.

I'd strongly reccomend not feeding beef or other red meat to your fronts as you will likely end up with some pretty bad cases of bloat.

5 days now...

Can you give more information? What other tankmates do you have with them? Size of tank? Water parameters? Lighting?

Frontosas are shy/skittish fish and if you have fast moving or aggressive fish in with them then they might be stressed out. They are also deep water fish so extremely bright lights will stress them out as well. Mine love raw shrimp (without salt additives), cut up silversides, frozen brine shrimp, and mysis shrimp. You might try these foods. Find out from the previous owner what they fed the frontosas and feed them the same thing. Good luck.

Take care,
Tuong

Good advice, Tuong.:) Please include the appearance of poop as well. Do the fronts appear to be losing weight fast?
