thats so cool glad to know you had success breeding

salvinis breed like convict imo

Well here is my theory on the subject matter. SoCal is know for it's fish trade, we have access to just about everything and lots of it. Personally I think here in lye's the problem. Due to this fact at least the LA, Orange County area has a shortage of good quality what I like to call basic staples, or bread and butter cichlids. One is hard pressed to find decent quality Jack Dempsey, Salvini and even Fire Mouth at times. Something I was not used to when I moved down here almost 3 years ago, and something that most hobbyists else ware probably would have trouble fathoming but it's true. These fish are fish most of us love and for good reason! They rock both in looks, and personality, but that none of us want to order on line due to the commonality of the species. I think it may be for that very reason things are the way they are. Everyone is so busy keeping and acquiring the oddball and hard to get species that the basics have been neglected right down to a sad sorry state if you ask me. Myself included sometimes I can not lie haha. I know others here who would agree with me on this. So while the Salvini may be some what easy to breed yes. To me it is also a very worth while fish to keep around, and I breed them to help speed the good bloodlines back around down here. I would be doing the same with JD's if I could humble myself to ordering good quality ones or fine some locally that were lol but I can't

and I plan to do so with Fire Mouth too. To me they are even easier to breed

Always a delight to see your pictures. Those Salvinis look so cute, they will be lookers like theyre parents.
