So i took some fry home from the petco i work at. I have no clue what they are and i dont reallly have a tank for them right now. What can i do? What will they eat?

most new fry would eat newly hatched brine shrimp. but it would help if you had pics...

Then why did you take them home?.........:screwy:

OK.. what kind of frys were they?

Jack Dempsey? Oscar or african Cichilid?

The best food is of course blood worms.. but i feed frys with FH food, just cuz FH food have extra stuff in there to help with health and color..

If you can describe the color that would be great...

Good luck

How could you not know what fish made them? And why would you take them, if you have no tank? This makes NO sense to me at all.

If they are newborn fry bloodworms are way to big. If you don't want to do live food you can get some Hikari First Bites. It's a powder so I usually dip a finger in the tank and then into the bag and roll the food up into a little ball. Then, place it in the water next to the fry, half of it will fall apart when putting it in and the rest will break down quickly so the little mouths can eat it. If you just put it on top they may not find it, so get your hand/arm wet. After the fry start eating from the surface I crush Omega One First Flakes and tublex worm cubes. Both are high in protein and fat and the fry really take off on that diet. And do water changes!

For live food I do micro worms or baby brine and do the same thing of spot feeding them so the fry find the food.

Even though I agree with everyone about why did you bring them home, I also applaud you for giving it a go.

EDIT: I might be wrong about bloodworms, I was thinking blackworms. I haven't fed bloodworms so I don't know how big they are. They have similar protein and fat content as tublex worms.
