Here's a realatively ok cell phone picture of my new snowflake eel and stonefish habitat in my 75gal brackish tank.

tank.jpg

It's a combo of one ornamental plastic cave, a smaller plastic rock structure in the middle surrounded by a good 50lbs of "Honeycomb Rock" purchased from my LFS.

It's just the right side of my tank, full pictures as well as hopefully pictures of my still timid G. Tile (snowflake eel) to come soon.

You can see my mollies, and two arher fish in that pic (if you can make it out).

Yeah I hope so, right now he's under one of the rocks, instead of behind/in the caves I had painstakingly set up for him :) Don't you just love that. haha.

Hopefully when he gets a little bit more used to the tank he will come out more.

I really picked the rocks because of the tunnels and honey comb structure they have, great for any eels to get into and out of. Hopefully they will also harbor the guppies and ghost shrimp that I put in there, my archers don't get them first :)

Anyone know the shyness level of these guys? I know it takes maybe a week for them to get used to their enviroments, but anyone who has them - do they come out? Mine is actually burried itself under rocks, instead of using the lovely caves and honey combs I've made for it haha.

Hopefully that will change, anyone have this experiance?

I used to have one that did the same thing, I guess it felt more comfortable under a big rock, but I never saw any ill effects.

I reset up my tank to be different. It spread the rocks to the sides of the tank, so anything behind the rocks could be visable.

I can now always see my eel, which is great, and he can hide. I have found frozen prawn to be something he really likes, as well as guppies. He eats from my tongs, and he is a lot of fun to feed. I'll post new pics as soon as I can.

Thanks for the help all.

Right now I've got it mainly eatting frozen prawn. He loves it.

He bites on frozen silversides. But he won't eat them because they are too big, even cut in half.
