You'll have to look back at my post from 6/15 to see how big they were. I would have just posted on the old thread but the pics have to be published first to add them to a thread that isn't new? I tried publishing them on Facebook first but they turned out really small and the quality was poor. If anyone can help with this on a side note, that would be great! Sorry about the water spots on the glass-I thought I had it taken care of...

EDIT: ok just looked up the other thread again...definitely some true spotteds in there, nice to see their variable pattern (they are different from the other southern population fish to an extent, but still more similar to them than they are to our fish in the "northern" population).

please keep us posted with further pics! i don't seen any LNG in there at first glance, but Richard may be able to pick some out as well (others too) --

Caught in Union County-super southern Illinois. You guys thought they were a group of Spotted and Longnose. Spotted with more stripes and Longnose with more spots-who would have thought...

yeah, at those stages there are a lot of stripes on SPGs (and other lepisosteus gars), and LNG are highly variable. it's also very interesting to note (and we have seen this in other populations too) that juvenile SPGs from the wild have very long snouts...some on par with LNGs. looking forward to updates--
