Hello, Well to start off i went to a lfs only to find a the owner had a little gar in the same tank with 3 full grown RBP with all of his fins missing.... :eek::confused:. After a good scolding i ended up buying the little guy dirt cheap :headbang2 He now resides in a once empty 29 gal but i plan on xfering him into a 210 gal i should recieve in a week or so :nilly:

so far he has ate one 1.5-2" goldfish (the other is hiding for its life in the tree stump), but i should be getting some feeder guppies within the next couple days.

Nice save! Try to stay away from goldfish they really arent a good choice for feeding any predatory fish. If hes big enough you can try to get him off feeders all together and feed him market shrimp, pellets and other prepared foods. If you feed him a good diet his fins should regenerate in no time at all. Bump the temp of the tank up to about 80-82* and add a tsp of salt for every 5 gal to try and ward off any infection. Stay away from meds if he does get an infection unless its absolutly nesecary.

yeah im not a fan of goldfish either, but it was the only thing the lfs had to offer .:( However, i do have a quarantine tank that is pumped with meds i put all my feeders in 24 hours beforehand.
