This has been a fish I've wanted for a very, very long time, but never did, for this reason or other - but yesterday I had to get this group of 4 at a LFS. They are only about 2 inches, but already are established in the community and it looks like two pairs. They are gorgeous! They are quite dark - kind of brownish gray, black stripe down the eye, and a few blue / green pearls, but not much yet. The dorsal has a nice black line to them especially on the males.
Do any of you have some? I think this could be the start of a Geo. bug!
Post yours!!!

I keep a trio of gymno geos-labiatus I used to have red heads geos also. The brasiliensis I had were too agressive for my redheads altrifons or gymnos. They do get pretty colors but are not really eartheaters and don't sift gravel/sand like the others. I have seen them 10 inces plus. their temperment is like a severum from the ones I owned.

I've got three 3"ers I'm growing out, no pics of them. Here are some of my old ones.

Only aggression I've ever seen is towards their own kind. Even this is a very small amount though.

bderick67 what is the cichlid in the 2 nd of the larger pics with the 2 pearl cichlids? Never seen anything like it

Did you have a breeding pair? I have iporangensis which are reportedly the same fish just in a smaller package so I'm naturally curious. My pair have stand offs with a larger rotkeil a few time a day but only got physical with my Nic which they killed.
