New Giant Snakehead

Hello everyone.

You guys can call me Frankie. This is my first post. I have been keeping fish since I was a boy. Was always interested in monster meat eating fish. I have done a lot or research and have kept many red tail catfish, tigershovelnose, oscars, flowerhorns, etc. I always dreamed of getting a giant snakehead, but I couldn't find one. But after many years of hard luck I finally got my hands on one. It's about 8 inches long and is an amazing specimen. Currently I have housed him in a 4ft by 2ft aquarium. And yes, he is alone. Don't wanna risk it . in the near future I'm shifting houses so I'm planning to make a pond for my fish. I have uploaded pics of the new monster and would love to hear your thoughts.

nice man and congrats they do grow very fast if they have the room I have three myself and they are my boys lol raised them from five inches and now the biggest is just over 30 .again congrats on getting it It took me a long time to find mine to but u will deffinately enjoy them ..cheers

Cool find man and congrats on finally getting one lol. So it is Micropelts than correct? As Crazyfreak said he has absolutely beautiful specimens and they are BIG. check his pics out super cool.

Thank you guys. Sorry for the late reply, been really busy. The snakehead is awesome, he has a cool personality and is a big eater. i checked out crazyfreak's monsters they are super cool, keep it up. i hope my snakey grows that big. im getting my hands on a 6x2x2 tank in a few days so that this guy stays in my bedroom until he outgrows the tank . i would also like to share another pic of a snakehead that i found a few months back, his head was injured and i got him for like $2. He recovered quickly and was not at all aggressive compared to the giant snakehead. the lfs guy told me its a bichir and i was like ya right just give me that. i later gave it to my friend. i think its a Channa Punctata. what do you guys say?
