Just picked him up today, for £3.99!!:nilly:

I took a crappy pic on my phone just to show you the size, but ill get some better pics once the camera's charged up. Ill also update with his growth rate etc, which is something i seem to be becoming obsessed with these day!! :screwy:

Also I'll ask some of you guys to do an ID on him for me cos he was just called 'gibbiceps' and im just curious of his actual name.

Thanks for looking :grinno:

if so then yes, he is a pterygoplichthys gibbiceps. one of the coolest plecos to own IMO, as long as you have the space for it. may not be the most colorful, but at least you'll never have issues getting pictures of him once it settles in.

his stomach is pretty inverted. i would try putting a bunch of different fresh veggies in the bottom and figure out what he likes. replace it every 24 hrs even if he hasn't touched it. you may have to do that for a couple of days before he realizes its food but once he does he'll be attached to whatever it is he likes all day long. once they start eating they grow incredibly fast and are easy to keep happy.

I know thats why I hate buying new fish thy are always in such crappy condition I feed mine lettuce tomatoes and spinach with soe algea wafers to suppliment his diet. I feel so bad when I see his tummy :( but I think hes been eating and the tankis full of drift wood for fiber. plecos arent meant to be kept eating fish food they need diets high in bulk.

his tank is at the end of the video I have the tank turned over 20 times the hour now with daily cleaning so no worries on the bioload. he will be going into a 75 gal cause I sold the dempsey and his tank. I miss him sob bye my dempsey

try some zucchini squash too, mine stays attached to zucchini almost all day long. i dont' know what you mean by daily cleaning, but i would advise against doing daily water changes at least until he settles in a bit. if you've got good filtration, which is sounds like you do, you don't really need to worry about the bioload that much. the stress from changing that much water can be enough to keep him from getting comfortable and eating, and eventually enough to kill him.

i dont want to seem like i'm telling you what to do, just a little advice from my experiences with small plecos.
