HEY BROS! JUST GOT MY AROWANAS YTD(will be getting another 1 soon to make it a 5 fish comm)! have let them settle down bfore taking any pics!
When i got them home i just realised how much my old arowana had grown since i got it one month ago! the is way thicker and larger than the other 3(you cn see from the pics) and i was afraid he might murder them all in one night so i took some precaution measures. Here is wad is going on! 1) i placed 20 quarantined zebra danios into the tank 3 days ago to act as a distraction and food over night to prevent fights due to hunger and i did not use feeders as i believe those fishes meant to be pets are much healthier than those which are bred for feeders and cost only like $1, thus i doubt they will spend too much $ taking care of them. 2) i placed in the new 3 arowans in their tank with all the standard accumulation rule and let them settle in it for a day. 3) on the next day which is today, i took out my orginal arowana and accumulated him with the comm tank water. 4) i released him into the comm. 5) inorder to prevent fights and everyting, i placed a divider and let them have 1/3 of the tank. also the palce they are at is where the filter water comes out so it cn help to wash away all the waste away from them and towards the pump. also it helps to create a current to prevent them from fighting. For now i dont see any fights occuring yet , probably due to the stress. i just hope my 1st comm would work out just fine! also the new 3 babies are just around 6-7 inches and alread have lots of golden specks ont thier back! and their 5th are fully up!
PLS GIVE ME SOME ADVICES BROS OUT THERE WHO HAVE MANY EXPERIENCE! i am 16 and i have kept many fishes since 4(betta as a start) and my 1st arowana when i was 12( 1.5 red arowana) hopefully bros here cn teach me some skills that i need to know! thanks!
