Hey Y'all,

I just picked up an L200 (I'm pretty sure). He's about 2 years old & 7.5". I don't know much about plecos, so I'll let the experts decide if I correctly ID'ed him. He was sold to me as a "Gold Nugget" (L018), BTW.

Sorry for the pics. They're of him in the "critter keeper" from the car ride home.

For comparison, here's the planetcatfish data page for L200: "green phantom"

I wasn't aware that there are fin variants for this species. Can anyone tell from these pics whether mine is "hi-fin" or "low-fin"?

I'll get pics of him in the tank as soon as QT time is up.

Feel free to comment & post any tips on properly keeping this green ball of spikes!

Yep, L200 and a nice one, too. Mine is still under 4" but he's an awesome fish. Try Mango and zuchinni-mine loses all dignity when I stick mango in there lol

Mango, really? Cool- pleco food just got 1000x's cheaper. I'm filipino- so you KNOW I've got mangos for DAYS! :D

Yes this is a L200 and is the "lo fin" Hemiancistrus subviridis. Very nice pick up.

He'll be in Phantom Heaven lol Better throw in some zucchini for good measure. Can't have him thinking mango grows on trees :-)
(Does it?)

Very cool looking pleco. 7.5",nice and beefy too.

Thanks for the comments & feedback fellas. Anything I should know aggro-wise? How about with conspecifics? I'm thinking of putting him in a 100g with (2) 3.5" GTs and (4) 3" red hook SDs.

How about my "plan B": 55g w/ this guy, (1) 5" L191, 4 red hook SDs or a small school of some other active, friendly community fish, tetras, danios, etc.

IDK, I'll think of something by the weekend....
