Hi guys,
I'm new to keeping cichlids and have just got my first green terror. He is about 2 1/2 inches long. I'm looking forward to seeing him grow. If anyone else is in the same boat as me it would be good to share info and compare pics as they grow.

Regards Mark

My experience with them is that they are really slow growers. Someone may have had a different experience but I've had two different specimens both grew really slow. They can get mean tho.

Great colors for such I little guy, he's going to be beautiful. Yes they are slow growers. my male has gone from 1.5" to 5" in 6-8 months, whereas the two females I have, have gone from 1.5"-3" in the same time.

they can be slow growers. It took mine almost 2 years to hit 8 inches. You can see pics of the grow rate by clickinng on the link in my singature. (Jag my GT)

I good diet help keep the parasite downs because GT are known for getting them easliy. They can be aggressive. Mine started out with roomies but aas he got older, i had to give him his very own lil home...lol Great fish to have! :)

Like others have said, they are slow growers. I've had mine for 5 months and they've grown about 2 inches. They've now been moved into an 8x2x2 so hopefully their growth picks up a bit. They are beautiful fish though. Worth the wait in my opinion. Especially when they get big and breed.

I like the look of yours. Good luck with it.

Just a quick update on my green terror. It's two months on and he's 4" now. Is 1 and 1/2 inches in two months normal growth rate? Here's a couple of pics taken this evening.gt4 4in.JPGgt5 4in.JPG
