Went over to a local store today to check out what they had, and came back with this dude for a 3 bucks.

Got another green texas from the same store a bit ago but ended up losing him. (woke up with all of my other guys bouncing him around in the tank and by the time I had gotten to him, my vanilla crayfish had picked apart most of his head) This guy seems to be doing awesome so far, doesn't put up with any of the other guys **** at all, yet isn't too aggressive. Fingers crossed he does good! He's about 1.5" right now.

I'll post up some updates as the weeks go on!

Nice pick up.

I wouldn't keep an expensive crayfish with aggressive fish, even the smallest cichlids will pose a serious threat once it molts. Even if they can't swallow the whole thing they will go for the legs and claws until there's not much left.

Yeah I was a bit worried about that also haha. I built a cave for him in hopes he'll stay away from everyone and he spends nearly all day in there hanging out. Nobody really goes near it at all. I work from home and hardly sleep so I do my best to keep an eye on things to make sure he's all good. I believe he's already molted once since I got him and he made it out ok, but I may have just gotten lucky on that one! haha. He disappeared for a couple days and I started seeing pieces of his shell floating around so my immediate thought was he got killed, but he's still alive thankfully! I will definitely keep a close eye on things for sure though

For the most part everyone is terrified of him and steers clear whenever he is around or completely ignores him. Thank you for the advice though! I'm still learning a ton of stuff daily, so any advice is awesome advice :)

Nice color already.
