IN YOUR HEAD
I picked up a high grade group to work on breeding. 4 blue diamonds and one blue diamond angel. I am hoping to get a pure blue diamond pair and a pair with the blue diamond angel. I think I may end up with many species and be breeding them all before it is all said and done with.

They are still settling in but here is a few pics.

Iv been thinking about keeping discus again I miss it. Nice fish btw.
I've never tried breeding them before but I hear that the hard part is raising the fry.

They look a bit young to be graded anything, they need to be grown out before you count your chickens LOL!

They are a bit young. The connection I got these from have larger fish from the same supplies and they are all show grade. I almost got a show grade proven pair. They are not cheap though. These are imported Asian bred fish. I put them in my 125gal planted that is linked to a 180gal. I also have peat in for black water conditions. They also don't have the colors right now that they had in his tank.

These are high quality fish, from quality lines and not the average LFS mixed discus. Plus their body and finnage are in perfect condition for their size and show great potential.

Thanks yeah it shouldn't be to bad. I have some breeding experience. My first pair I got never bred for the original owner of a few years and within 2 months they bred and got wriggliers. The female ate them and just as they were going to spawn again my male got stuck behind the sponge filter and died. He crashed the tank out and killed the other 2 discus I had with him. Shouldn't take to long to grow these out. They are already on flakes and pellets. I may just add some black worms for gp.

At what size do you expect them to breed? Is it easy to spawn them once you have black water? The colour will return soon enough when I had mine they went beige for about a week before they settled in I for one would like to see more pictures when they do.

I think something like 6" mark or so before they breed. My last pair I had was m-8" f-6". They breed in pure tap water. I am trying black water mainly for my rays. They seem more active with the black water if that was even possible. I'll get pics up as soon as they look better. Right now I just have some shop lights on the tank for my plants, I never seem to have great growth with any other lights. I have not gone with the stupid expensive lights but this has done me well for years.
