Hey everyone, I just started up and cycled a new 75 gallon tank for my office at work. I had it cycling using Startzyme for about a week and a half. I was at the pet store last Friday and saw that they had a 5 inch Green Terror that someone couldn't keep anymore and had given to the LFS. So, I've put him in the tank and he's been in there for a week and is not eating at all. No interest in food whatsoever. The only other tankmate in there is a 3 inch p. clarkii dwarf crayfish. They don't really get along well but they've gotten to the point where they leave each other alone. Anyhow, I've been monitoring the ammonia and nitrite levels and they're both faithfully at zero. The ph is 7.3 and the dkh is about 12. I change 5 gallons every day I'm in the office so that I'm changing about 25-30 gallons a week. I've tried feeding it nls cichlid pellets, frozen bloodworms, and tetra min cichlid sticks (that's what the LFS said they were feeding it). He doesn't seem interested in any of it. He doesn't seem otherwise stressed. He's taken to digging in the sand and making piles with it and he comes up to the front of the glass when I turn the room lights on (his lights are on a timer). Any suggestions on what could motivate him to start eating would be much appreciated. This is my first experience with any south American cichlid other than blue rams. My other two tanks are both planted community tanks so this is a new venture for me. Any suggestions would be greatly appreciated. I've added a link to a youtube video showing the fish so you can see what he looks like and see his setup. Thanks. http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=F5dVFe-m6Lg

1- great taste in music

2- fish looks absolutely normal. A she if i had to guess...

3- try and put in some peeled peas.

4- do not stress yourself, it will eat if otherwise acting normal.

5- keep up with the small water changes, your tank may have "cycled" too quickly....

Looks good and healthy. Nice crawdad. Looks like he needs a buddy to go with that big ole tank.

Sent from my DROID RAZR using MonsterAquariaNetwork App

And skip the tetra stuff....if you can get your hands on nls, there is nothing better...

Remember that guy is mainly vegetarian...

So, I've upped the amount I'm changing daily to 10%. I just want to make sure that I'm removing any ammonia build up in case my tank hasn't cycled well enough yet. The fish still looks fine but I have yet to see it eat anything. I drop in a couple NLS pellets every morning but they sink to the bottom untouched. The crayfish is eating them when he feels brave enough to come out and get them which is rarely. With the NLS it's hard to tell how much is being eaten since it's such a small pellet. The fish has a lot of personality and isn't shy at all. Something that's worrying me is its belly is really flat and is starting to get a small depression in the middle(obviously due to the lack of eating). Miguel, you had said peeled peas. How do I go about preparing that for it?
