Hello everyone I plan on getting a turtle soon the one I have in mind is the pink belly snapping turtle/elseya novaguineae I plan on keeping it in a 50 gallon aquarium when it is young and then move it into an 90-120 gallon aquarium when it is an adult but when I keep the turtles together they will be in a much larger aquarium or turtle tub or a pond. I need to know how aggressive the new guinea snapping turtles are in general, how aggressive they are during feeding time, and do they get much more aggressive when they hit sexual maturity or adult age like phrynops hilarii does, and how well would they do in a community tank with other species of turtles that have similar requirements and needs in general. My strategy is going to be adding one turtle at a time while learning more and slowly upgrading tank size. The other turtles I want to keep with the new guinea snapping turtle gradually are from different regions but they all have very similar needs are the red ear slider, the african sideneck turtle/pelusios castaneus, and the gibba turtle/phrynops gibbus. I already know the other care elements for the new guinea snapping turtle like PH, temperature, water depth and feeding they have care sheets for that but I found a only a couple for their temperament the only info I could find were from foreign sites that I translated some people said they are a little nippy while others said they were good turtles I want to know what their personalities and temperament are like in general. I also really want to know if my strategy is going to work I know some turtles will not get along with each other and for that reason just in case things go wrong I will have separate tanks for each turtle. I also want to know your guys opinion about my strategy and if it is a good idea or not and what you think will happen also has anyone on here ever kept this species and can you tell me what they are like in general personality wise and if you have kept them with other turtle species or the same species of turtle and how has that worked out for you good or bad? Finnaly I need as much info on this turtles species from you guys as possible.

I can tell you one thing, don't bother putting a red eared slider in that community. I believe the others should do fine but IME red eared sliders aren't good in communities except with other similar species like yellow belly sliders or cooters. I've tried keeping RES's with same-size painted turtles, African sidenecks, Mississippi maps, common snapping turtles, and alligator snapping turtles, and it never works out. And yes, I've had red eared sliders bully my snapping turtles (even take out bits of their tails).
Other than that I think all the others should do well together, but the New Guinea snappers may outgrow the others you listed.
