Yeah, they aren't exactly what I, or anyone else would rightfully call 'monster fish', but hey, they're common beauties that are easily obtained, kept and bred. I've had them multiple times over the years, and have finally decided to stick with them as well as my other fish. They've always been fun too keep, and while I've had pregnant females and...amorous males kept together, I've never successfully kept babies, as they would always wind up eaten. Well this time, it accidentally happened...and I'm so shocked and amazed. I assure you, I take very good care of my fish and in no way, shape, or form did I plan on this happening. Truly, it blew my mind! The thing is, I JUST found out I had them!

I had had three tanks set up, but since my angels are so small, I moved my guppies in with them. Actually, I moved the guppies in with them over a MONTH ago! Since then, the other tank has had no filtration, light, or heating...it's basically a chore I kept putting off. I meant to dump it... but somehow, I would always get stopped once I had started. So yeah, not I have a ten gallon tank filled halfway with water, with THREE half inch long guppy fry swimming happily about -though one looks pregnant, I had read that it is possible if you don't seperate them- I guess they've been feeding off of algae or something, I'm not sure, but I crushed up some of my tropical flakes and put them in there, didn't take long for the little guys to start nibbling.

What's even more amazing is since all three of my females look pregnant, I went out and bought a 4 way breeding and display tank from Penn Plax. I've got it set up in my fully set up breeder tank, but the only problem that is keeping me from moving my new [well...newly discovered to be more accurate] babies in it is the dramatic temperature change. I keep my tank at 78/79F constantly...and I am afraid that the unsetup tank is much cooler... [probably in the sixties, I'd guess 63F is the absolute lowest possible] I haven't put the thermometer in yet...well let me do that real quick...

Ok I let it sit for almost 10mins and about halfway through the temperature stopped at 67F, so it's about 10-12 degrees F off from what my set up tank is.... now for the big question... dum dum dum duuuum -drum roll-

How would I move the babies into the other tank, I put the four way in already. Do I do the drip method with them? -I think this is the drip method anyways? XD Don't hate me, it's almost 12AM here and I've been hard at work making my fish monies. [ put them in a plastic baggie and slowly add more water til it's all the same temp as the big tank? ] Or what else can I do? I don't want to stick them right on end and kill them with temperature shock...Help, advice and tips welcome. Any flaming result in unhappy faces...and other things. Well, I'n staying tuned so feel free to reply : )

 I just can't believe this happened, after keeping for THIS long you think I would've seen it coming, or something! Seriously!

Your Method is fine. Put them in a bag, and add like 1/4 cup of water from the tank about every 5 mins. Do this for about 20-30 mins. If it fills up dump some out and repeat.

Thanks so much, Pyramid_Party :) Hopefully the lil' guys [there's three] will make it through, from the looks of it, it was my Metallic Blue thay gave birth : D

xD I did end up transferring...but they escaped their protective netting when they were around an inch and a half and got gobbled up D : Really makes me mad cause they were already turning these really amazing colors >_< -mutters bad things- Oh well, now I know it's possible for me to breed Guppies.... I can't believe Corys were easier to breed, mine bred a week after I brought them home... and I thought they called Guppies the Millions Fish! HAH.
