Hey all, So, for this 155 gallon tank, bow front, with a nice stand... I have a few questions! Go figure eh? Been here 2 days and already posted over 30 threats... haha.

Anyways, Do I fill it with a hose or something? I want to get it REALLY REALLY clean, so someone told me to bleach it, then wash it with vinegar and water, then to rinse it out with water 3 times... any input?

When I fill it, I thought you're not supposed to use tap water... I'm in Calgary, if you know about our water *shrugs*. What would be the best way of doing this?

Next, I want a fair bit of live plants and I'm going to grow them in the tank before I add fishies, what substrate would be really good for plants, and my theme for the tank will call for a lighter rock or what ever. I don't want a dark bottom, but more like a light tan, if possible.

NEEEEXT, Now, since I have this big tank, the question is *drum roll* can I have a broader community since each species will have it's own are in the tank? I'm still looking for the type of fish, since I'm really into Discus and Angel fish, but other fish LIKE those would suffice for sures.

Thanks everyone for helping me out so much so far. I'll have the new tank this weekend and I'll be sitting around cleaning it and getting it ready for use...

OH YA! Any way to polish the glass? make it look pimpin'?

dont use bleach, just rinse is out with tap water and use a soft sponge. make sure u have a decent aquarium light to grow plants, you can use gravel for substrate, the bigger the gravel the better for food to reach the roots. a 150 gallon you can stock a lot, if you gonna do discus and angels, get other peaceful fish. i got discus and angels in my tank, but discus are hard to care for not for amateurs, u need really good water for them. i got a flagtail, roseline shark, pleco, black ghost knife, crab in my tank
