I recently (about 2 weeks ago) got a used 150 gal fw from a friend of a friend with 7 J.D. ranging from 6-9 inches. I already had a 56 gal fw with 3 J.D. about 3 inches and a common pleco about 6 inches.
I combined my tanks in the 150 and used both cannister filters. Rena xp2 and Magnum 350 with HOB biowheel things.
All seems to be working well and the fish all seem to get along very well.
They only use about half the tank. The big Dempseys seem to like to stay close to each other all the time. (very peaceful looking)
