Ok new to Arowana's but not fish keeping. ;) I have a 240 (8x2x2) sitting around. Was thinking of doing a one species only tank. Have always wanted a Arowana.

Now for the questions. Was thinking of a Mag 18 as return pump. Will I need more flow? Is adding a 125 as a sump a waste? Are Aro's dirty fish in general? Are they kept best in Pairs or doesn't matter? Any other advice appreciated. Thanks

Here is the tank how it sits now. Tank has hood (jumpers).

you can fit about 2 of them in there no more. but if you add 2 you can still have many other fish, i recommend maybe peacock bass, and rays when you are more experienced

Arowana are not particulary dirty for large fish. Your tank is a bit too narrow to keep an adult arowana. Aros should be kept in a tank that has at least a length 3x the aro's lenght and a width/depth at least equal the aro's length. So your 8x2x2' tank is good for upto a 24" arowana. Silvers and blacks get much larger then 24" you could possibly go with a jardini.

Dont get silver or black aro. They grow wayyy to long.

Get a jardini or leichardti arowana. Its perfect in ur tank

Dude, I couldn't give this tank away around here. :) I didn't have ONE person come look at it. :(. I figured I will set it up with FW?

What type Aro do you have? Did you get it from Aquatopia?
