Picked him up yesterday we'll see what he looks like healthy and his gill plate is dented in a little bit on one side is that something to worry about?

dent in the gill is probably due to poor water conditions.. keep tank water nice and clean and hopefully it will get better.. i rescued a jaguar that had real bad gill curl and one side healed up the other stay curled ,and he has been good of 2 years. he also geew 9 " inches .. your fish is a nice looking fish
