I have a roughly 3 year old red eared slider that I rescued from a neighbor who had no idea of how to care for him, he has since recovered well. Last year I moved him into a 29 gallon aquarium and he nearly doubled in size since! Obviously I have to get him into a larger tank. There is a pretty good chance that I will be inheriting a 55 gal and want to know if that would be adequite for him. Thanks, Russ.

that should work for a while. I'm about to build a pond for my turtles soon good luck with every thing
How big is the turtle? Do you have any pics? Females get twice the size of the males so be prepared.
55 should be ok for a male for a while, a female will outgrow it though. I would say upgrade even for a male but it wont be much too small.
