New help ASAP. Eheim Canister not running

I have a 60 gallon ecco eheim canister filter.

i got it all set up, followed every instruction, plugged it in and nothing happened

whats going on?

Did you fill both hoses with water. Not totally familiar with this filter, but most cannister filters work by the water being "siphoned" into the filter and then pumped back to the tank. So you will need to prime it(start the siphon) first.

ecco filters need to be primed.
The handle tilts in the direction of the red tag.
Once the water gets filled up in the filter,
you can start the filter.
Just be careful as the material quality is flimsy.
Eheim has made a mistake with that design.

It may have a bad motor. I would do some independent research however as not many people run these filters as far as I know. Im assuming you checked the plug to make sure its functioning and not controlled by a light switch or anything? Make sure the circuit breaker is not tripped etc...

ya its not the power outlet, cause its a power strip and i have other things running just fine on it.

Check to see the impeller is free...

I have a Total of 5 of those filters work awesome, make sure that you have your lines hook up right. Once you pull the handle down and water fills the pump slowly bring the handle back up and it's ready. If any question fill free to Pm me!
