Wow this is great! I am so happy to have finally found a lively forum for lung fish. I had been googling for months trying to get info and had little luck, so it's really great to find a group of people so into the proper matinence of these incredible animals. I have been keeping a lung fish for about 6 months now. I bought it at a lfs at about 5.5". In the time I have had it it has grown to just under 20". These are estimate measurements as I am holding a tape out side it's tank. I feed it black worms, snails, earthworms, gold fish, and am going to start trying strips of beef heart and shrimp. The thing is quite aggressive and will nail anything put in it's tank but settles down after a bit and lets me service its tank (i don't put my hands in the tank!) It was sold as p. annectens but I now am doubting it. I am not sure but from the pics I have seen it looks to be P. Aethiopicus Aethiopicus. Oh boy I am in for a little more work than I expected if that's the case. I will post some pics latter today. I look for ward to being a participant on this forum and exchanging use full information .
