Hello! I am mainly a fancy goldfish enthusiast; I have a 55g and a 75g for my 7 beautiful goldfish. I keep butterfly telescopes and ryukins. So they are my first love <3

But I am here now because I recently acquired a baby bullhead, and I want to learn more about its care. I'm not sure if it's the brown or black variety, she's too small yet to tell. But she's only an inch long and very cute! Her name is Emily. :) (assuming, of course, that it's a she!) I have already learned a little bit from searching around, but I'm sure I'll learn much more as I go.

I had a baby bullhead at 1" too and he grew to a monster 9" in aobut 4-5 months.

I fed him worms and meat they love it alot.

Oh thanks for the tips! I will pick up some worms, they have red wigglers (I think?) at a nearby petstore that should be small enough. And I didn't know they grew so fast! The biggest spare tank I have right now is 29 gallons, and clearly that won't be large enough.
 
Mine is at 1 inch, too, and loves worms. He has also learned to eat flake faster than my guppies. He also likes the shrimp pellets I feed my Corydoras. Its nice you got a good picture of yours, mine streaks across the tank so fast, every pic i get is blurry. I also only have a 29 gal for now. I was wondering how big he could get before I set up my 55?
 
mine likes to dig alot so sand is the best substrate and i feed mine sinking carnivore pellets
 
Thanks for the welcomes and the advice. We brought along some lake water from the lake where we got Emily, and she has been eating little swimming critters from that so far. What she ate look kinda like brine shrimp, only they are from our lake. Not too sure what they are, but she likes them.

Hi Lupin! Geez you must be on every fish forum out there, huh?! This is Sakura from Koko's Goldfish Forum! Nice to see you on here :) I've now got 7 beautiful butterflies and ryukins from Goldfish Connection in my collection, and I love 'em all to bits. How are your Orandas and others doing?

We're doing just fine. I used to cover a lot of forums until I cut it down to at least 4-6 only (including this site and sister site, AC). LOL! No more time for the rest since I also spend a bit of time in my facebook aside from working and workouts.
