hello everyone.. i have a couple questions i was wondering if anyone can help me out?

I have a silver aro about 6in i had him for about a week.. doesn't eat right away or eat when people are around he get jumpy all the time.. Aro eats crickets and feeders well the orange ones not the black ones.. seems kinda pansy to me.. any suggestions?

I had the same problem a few weeks ago, actually there's a thread about that entire saga, and then they got ick. The one I have left is about 7" and he will only eat crickets or krill at the moment. I found a trick is to toss the krill in small pieces really close to the fish in his sight, and he'll snatch it right off the top. If I take the same piece and put it on the other end of his tank, he wont even acknowledge that its there. Arowana are sight feeders and thats why the moving crickets and bright feeders are accepted so readily. By tricking them into thinking prepared foods are moving should help you in not having to buy crickets every few days, or worse contaminating his tank with diseased feeders.
