Hey everyone.

I started out as a poo cleaner at a mom and pop pet store when I was 16, then worked over to the freshwater section where I still did that sort of thing, just with fish. Thats when the bug bit me. Ive maintained a 20 gal tank with just some community fish, up until I graduated and cold better afford the hobby. Now I have 75 gallon cichlid tank, with some bumblebees, red zebra, electric yellows, jewels, tiger oscar, and some venustus. Its nothing too exotic, but fun none the less.

Ive always heard that I shouldnt mix south american and african cichlids, but I have yet to have any issues. I only see issues coming about when the oscars become huge, at which point I will find them a good home if it becomes an issue.

I know my way around an aquarium, but i know i have a lot to learn. I hope to learn a lot through this website.

Sorry for the novel.

welcome to mfk... nice to meet you... we are very liberal about mixing and matching different fish.. as long as it is healthy for the fish in the long term... such as trying to keep their water conditions as close to natural habitat as possible.. we also have learned that all fish are individuals.. what you can do with one individual species.. you might not be able to do again.. even though it is the same type fish...you will see it all here.:D:D:DView attachment 475379
