Hi everyone!

I'm new to this forum. As my user name states, I keep tiny fish not monsters :(. The reason I joined is because I would someday like to get into bigger fish. Right now I have lots of bettas, guppies, and angelfish and 14 tanks, the biggest being 55 gallons (I know. It's depressing). I finally got my dad into fish and he's a fan of big fish so maybe we can find a place to have a big tank so we can be monster fish keepers. Well, that's all I have for now. I hope to learn lots about all the aquatic giants.

Add: I know there's probably a separate place for this but I don't feel like making a new thread. I've always wanting an oscar and I think we might have room for something like a 180 gallon tank. Would an oscar and an arowana be okay in a tank that size, or would that overstock the tank? Would I still have room for other fish? We probably can't get a new tank for a long time, if ever actually, but I like to be prepared and plan ahead :).

Hi and welcome! MFK isn't always about the fish's size...it's about the Keepers themselves. You have 14 tanks? At least one is a 55? Yeah, you're a MFK'er!

Welcome to MFK - as far as your question with the 180 gallon it really depends on what kind of arowana you wanted, a silver or black wouldn't fit for life but maybe a smaller species would be better suited for your tank

That's good to hear. I guess having almost as many tanks to equal your age is a good thing...or the start of an obsession. If you put all my fish together they'll make a gigantic fish :D.

I think I'll just go with an oscar. I've always wanted a fish bigger than my cat.
