HI everyone. I'm new here. Found this forum/site very informative.
I'm new to JD's, just got a couple electric blues and a couple with the gene at an auction in Indiana at the last ACA. They are about 2 1/2" right now and eating voraciously. I do plan to raise them and if they allow me, I would like to get babies out of them. I do breed some angelfish (Philippine Blues and Wild crosses) and some discus at this time, and just want to add these fascinating creatures in my fishroom.
Next week, I will be getting some BGGG JD's and I'm very excited to see them. I have read that either BG or GG looks like +/+??? Or do the +/b has more blue and +/g has more gold? Or does a BGGG look like +/+ also? Do all of them look like +/+, since blue gene and the gold gene are recessive? I was wondering if someone has any pictures of the variety to pinpoint the variation, if there's any. I saw the platinums for sale...genetic wise, I've read they are b/b g/g? I did notice their difference as compared to the EBJD.
I know there are probably postings here already on these variety, but it's just nice to see them in 1 page. Or if there's a link that I can check, would appreciate it.
Thank you guys/gals in advance.
