WooooHooooo 6 and 1/2 hrs to put my new stand together and switch the tank onto it. :nilly::nilly::nilly:

I was just wondering as of when i put the hood on and start refilling it. What if i want to upgrade my filter to a bigger HoB filter. Because of the look of the size of some the hood looks like it is just built for this filter. Do i have to buy a new hood?

BTW its a 55gal tank

I'd get a glass hood if I were you.It will give you plenty of room for HOB's,and you could also change the lighting fixture if you ever wanted to.

Glass hoods are the way to go. I fit all kinds of plumbing on mine (some is hard to see but theres an eheim 2215 plumbing a fluval 405 a external 18 watt UV and ofcourse the AC110 and the tank is only a 4 footer so glass gives you options :)

Not sure if I can fit anything else though :)

thx tcar and nice tank btw..... just set up my 55gal on the stand and put the hood together. Now just to fill it and i have to cut the tube intake of the filter because it almost hits the sand and thats all i want is a clogged filter....

Right on man and yes watchout for sand! Especially with HOB's they have the impellar first in their water column where in a canister it comes last. So they are more susceptible to sand damage than canisters.
