Hi there from Australia or should i say G'day. My name is Yillant and I'm 18.. female in case my name confuses you lol. I have had and cared for all sorts of fish and animals ever since I can remember and i really love and enjoy all aspects of it even cleaning the tanks lol. My dream is to oneday build my own house made of glass and to have fish swimming all around me.

I've just recently moved to a new house and had to leave behind my 2 much beloved barramundi Bruce and Barry. They were about 16 and 20 inches long. Since moving here ive been put in charge of the resident fish 1 male, 1 female and 13 odd baby mollies. Some "Sea Monkeys" :ROFL:oh and a 1 inch long lobby. Probobly lucky for them that i had to leave my fish behind or i dont think theyd still be swimming unless it was in their tummys.

I'm planning to start a new tank full of native Australian fish. Maybe you guys could give me a few ideas on what fish will live happilly together, or at the least just not eat eachother. (seen all those lovely pictures of fish eating other fish lol) A must have in this tank for me however is a barramundi as they are my all time favorite species.

:welcome: to MFK !!! :D

wecomle to MFK good day mate.

Most wellcome aussie lassie!!

Why did you leave those two bests behind? What a pity.....

Welcome to MFK.. nice to meet another girl that likes fish... although we do have company on MFK... of course we are still outnumbered:D But we don't mind... theres alot of good info on the forums to answer all your questions and i hope you have some old pics of Barry and Bruce... because we would love to see them.. hope they are doing okay..:D

ty guys for making me feel so welcome :)

When it comes down to it the main reason was that a tank big enough for them to be happy in together at their size just wouldn't fit through the very small doors of this house and with nowhere sheltered outside to protect it from the weather i had to leave them behind but with a very capable caring person to look after them aka my mum <3 They are doing really well now but the first week or so i was gone they missed me. Wouldn't come out of their hiding places and wouldn't eat anything. They looked miserable in the photos i was shown. She was very worried they were sick. But all is good now with them apart from Bruce jumping out 3 times when she has been cleaning their tank recently -_- he has a slight mark or bruise on his side now but its healing well. I had to go back n see them because i was worried but now all is well. I have some pictures and ill be sure to show them to you all once Ive found my camera amongst my belongings.
