Ok guys, as a few of you will probably know im planning a pond for my catfish,

The origional plan was 8'Lx4'Wx4'H, but then i had a thought and persuaded myself to go for a 8'x4'x6' high, baring in mind this pond is going to be all ply.

I suppose what im asking is would an all ply pond beable to handle the amount of preasure from the huge volume of water that will be in this huge pond? Oh there will also be a window too at the front of it so how thick should i go for with the acrylic/glass?

Please help people as i have finally made my mind up and 8'x4'x6' is going to be the size what can i do to make it stronger?

Idont about the glass but I'd go with 2x4s when I built my 450 its 8Ft long 5ft wide 2ft tall and I used a simple 2x4 frame with plywood on the inside and its way over built I built the walls like you would a wall in the house figureing if it holds up a house it should hold up some water I pute the 2x4s 16 on center you might just move yours closer maybe 12 on center 2x4s are plenty strong sorry its so long

I don't have a whole lot of usefull information, but at 6' tall the viewing pane is going to have to be quite thick and is going to be quite expensive.

Yay you probobly would of been good just using 2x4s but over building is always better then under building good luck with build keep us updated how big are the windows going to be by the way

Yay so when are you starting the build I'm looking forward to seeing this thing under construction

Gonna start in a couple months after i get a few materials together, just found a supplier for liquid rubber here in the uk, gonna get that 1st so its out the way.

Im going on the phone now to get some prices on a load of fence posts also find a decent glaziers and get some prices on the glass too :D

I will keep a record of all the progress and start a new thread with the whole thing, maybe if i get impatient and want to show you guys early then i will :headbang2 so keep your eyes peeled people ;)
