New improved fish room

So up until a few months ago, my fish room was devoted to my bettas, which I bred and was my focus for the last three years. I decided recently to clear out the bettas and make the switch back to large CA cichlids, which I've been keeping for 25 ish years. Part of my betta breeding fish room was a wall of mounted shelving to hold the jars when a spawn needed to be separated into individual units. Naturally taking the shelving down left some large ugly holes in my wall. I spent weeks trying to colour match the paint to fix it up but it's an impossible colour to match, so last week I had an epiphany. I found two images I liked online of my favourite fish - Midas - and had my local sign shop custom make wall decals for me that would cover the patched holes. Just finished putting them up and it looks great! Even more perfect with my Midas, Tolken, right underneath them.

Reminds me of my fishroom, from the arrangement of the tanks. Somewhat like yours, mine has its tanks perpendicular to each other.

Lol, I read that paragraph, scrolled down to the first pic, and thought to myself "Wow..that looks like crap! Why'd she make those stickers so small? I can't even tell they're supposed to be fish!"

Then I saw the second shot...the "after" picture. Ooooohhhh...now I get it...

Looks great! And that Betta print is gorgeous.

I'm not a diehard cichlid guy, but I think they make for a way more interesting fishroom than a bunch of pickle jars each containing one cranky fish, no matter how beautiful they may be!

Ha! For me, the only real difference between my bettas and the cichlids I keep is size lol. Bettas are little anger nuggets who have to be kept alone in 1-5gal tanks...my cichlids (that I keep) are gigantic anger nuggets who are kept alone in 120 plus gallon tanks. I love both, but cichlids have always been my preferred and my focus

i feel like anabantid's and cichlids are the two groups of fish that are almost all personality all the time. whether a betta, pearl, snakeskin, kissing, leaffish or RTGG.... now if only i could keep channa here?
