So i picked up a new indo dat last week and he is doing pretty good. the only thing is with the lights off he is out swimming and is very stable. When lights come on he tries to hide and get unstable. and is real scared when i get near the tank. is this normal, what can i do to get him out swimming and to stay stable.?
more dats?
is this common with indo's? are st's the same way?

here is a pict of him with lights off and he is stable.

very nice indo.

This is not unheard of at all. Especially since its only been in your tank for a week. Give it more time. You may want to try dimmer lighting.

It will also take some time for it to get use to you and see you as "the guy who brings me food". Not wearing bright clothing may help also.

ST's are usually more stable then Indos, overall.

when i bought my 12" indo he was very very stable even at the LFS. but now he's very black..i kinda got pissed of because of that but its normal. give him some time.

dimmed the light should help.

well at first he was real stable. Just like yours but now its been a week and he is pretty black. He is eating good, but just hiding a lot. i have moon lights and at night he is out until i come up to the tank.

take time my friend.....mind still unstable and it's been almost a month and im not surprise if it take longer.

im a newbie at this but maybe some small feeders to play with:drool::drool::drool::popcorn:
