I am currently planning an indoor pond of 1100gallon. I was going to add regular aquarium heaters directly into the filter box thus eliminating wires etc into the main pond. Can anybody advise if heating a pond had been done through a combi-boiler before just like the central heating/hot water system in a regular home.
Incidently can anybody direct me to a website or thread on this site that gives examples of different filtration methods. I had planned to use a regular box filter where water is drawn from the pond via a submersible pump through the box of various levels of filter media and then returned to the main pond.
Many thanks

No one has mentioned a combi-boiler here, there's been some interest in regular water heaters for large tanks and small ponds...but no one has posted a follow-up as of yet.

Heaters and aeration in the filter system are a great way of hiding things and actually can be a benefit to the over-all system.

As far as looking for filter ideas your in the right place, just use the search function at the top of the page. Check out the outdoor ponds and the general aquaria DIY sections too.

Everything you need is in here somewhere ;).

A couple of questions to further refine your project...

What kind of budget are we talking here?

Do you have a significant other that wishes it to be "pretty" :D.

What is you schedule on this project?

We're all glad to help wherever we can.
