New Istlanum reds

Hey everyone, just got a group of 8 istlanum reds from aquabid. Really cool fish, they dont stop moving. Anyway, was wondering if I can get some advice or tips on how to raise them right (temps, diet ect). I have seen that they are prone to bloat but otherwise not a huge amount of info out there on them. Any and all advice would be appreciated. Thanks!!

congrats on picking up some istlanums. personality, looks, and attitude did you get a good deal? feed sparingly and plenty of water changes!

Thanks, yeah I think I did, 8 for $23 shipped...I stole them lol. Just finised a 50% change actually. NLS good enough or more veggie flakes? Thanks again!!

yes you did steal them lol. unfortunately the only time i owned one it was a 3" juvie from rapps and i lost him to bloat. I was feeding with nls but I think i read that they cant handle alot of protein at a small size and it tends to be why juvies bloat. I most likely just overfed mine. I am ordering more next week and I think im going to try a strict diet of small amounts of nls, take a couple days a week off from feeding and also feed spirulina and omega one flakes.
