New jack Dempsey came with tank, something wrong with him?

  • We are currently upgrading MFK. thanks! -neo
Nice Jack. I would just give him some time and feed him a healthy diet. Keeping the water extra clean might help as well. It just looks like he was a bit neglected by his previous owner.

male JD , he has the hump back thing going on. good water and good diet with proper filtration, folks say its caused by tank size, this poppycock, IMHO, fish had a hard life, bad water quality and poor feeding. do the water changes and feed him properly and make his last years good ones. :)

Gorgeous looking male JD. IMO, there's nothing wrong with this fish. Many old Jack Dempseys take on this type of body shape. It doesn't indicate the fish was neglected, nor does it indicate there's a problem. In fact, this JD looks as good of better than most JD's posted on MFK. Just keep his water clean and provide a healthy staple such as NLS. Great find!
