Hi everyone. This is my first jack dempsey. From what I can tell it is a female. She is only about three inches long, but full of color already. The picture doesn't do her justice. Sorry the glass is so dirty. Let me know what you think. Thanks!

Oh yeah, deffinately female with that blue jaw. Thick tube too.
 
Thanks for the confirmation guys! Pretty sure that is the beginning of some poo and not a breeding tube. Anyhow, I don't plan to get a male for her as I don't have the space for a breeding pair. I would sure love to try it someday though. They sure are stunning fish!
 
Yeah Im in the processing of acquiring a group of JD 2" to pair up with my EBJD. There is a guy in town that will give away fish for food. Hehehe, I've been to his place and he has batches that overlap and they're all hungry.
 
Most def a female... Does she change color for you? My female used to change from the light brown like yours to the dark dark blue similar to the male that i had her paired up with. Although i neve got babies from them< they were still way cool lookin.
