the cichlid expert wasn't there and the pion there couldn't tell me the latin name.

sign said something along the lines of "Jaguar cichlid. Breeders imported from Cuba"

see how that can be very confusing? help please.

p.s. his/her coloration was almost completely back when she was back in the tank, if that helps any.

P. loisellei would be my guess. Check out Jeff Rapps pics of Parachromis loisellei, looks awfully similar. My buddy Ryan has one.
