Sorry, I knew about the hith, but his upper lip was more my concern. He went from a really overcrowded 30gallon and being fed flake to an "undercrouded" (if that's a word) 540 gallon being fed pellets, krill, nightcrawlers and peas(if he'll take them). The water quality is very good and the diet is too. I want to know if the upper lip section will ever grow back, and if hith caused it to go.

It looks like it was smashed into the glass and healed that way. I doubt it will ever be normal, but a cool free fish nonetheless. You can treat him a lot better than the previous owner, and I'm glad you are up to the challenge.
