so guys am pretty new to aros, got this 5 inch jar in my 96, current mates are 2 tsn and a few other smaller fish.
i have no aro sticks and would take a while to get them in my country, what can i try in order to get him eating? i know he's been chewing on guppies since i regularly top up. also he is really skittish! any thing i can do to make this guy abit better?
thanks!

mine eats pellets whatever i catch (minnow, worms, toads, insects)
mine is 12" now but still eats the same pellets he ate when he was 6"

yea plain white background no gravel like two pvc pipe for my senegal bichir
my bichir is 6inch but they never fight

i might try tht combo actually, looking at a 180 cm by 100 by 65 tank.
i have one senegal now who i have nowhere to put so ill just hadd some pvc pipes in the aros tank for him to hide in

hi.
My jardini was quite similar to yours in behavior when I first got him.
He used to attack the sides of the tank whenever he saw his own reflection and exhibit very skittish behaviour. I managed to place some backing paper (eg. wrapping paper) on the side of the tank and it managed to settle him down abit.

With food at the start it only wanted to eat fresh food !
Lucky for me my mum used to feed it fresh fish from the market (eg sardines etc) and it did grow really fast and gradually settle to dried foods.

Now that it has settle in my place - it won't eat anything but Hikari Carnivorous pellets now and stopped eating fresh fish - although my guppies (feeder fish) numbers have diminished considerably.
