New JD Pick-Up

Was lucky to find this handsome fella at my local specialty shop. He's around 6.5" and has beautiful blue/green/gold spangles throughout his entire body. Currently sharing a 55G w/ one Marble Con, and a BNP. I've got him on a combination of NLS and Hikari sinking carnivore pellets (nothing gives me faster/healthier growth than the sinking carnivore pellets). Enjoy!

Awesome JD + Marble Con + BNP = dream team. JDs are great fish. (Maybe they're more of an acquired taste than other cichlids?) Mine's like some mini Dovii or spoiled hound dog.

Thanks guys! I agree that JD's are more of an acquired taste. As beautiful as they are (especially mature males), they definitely don't have the personality of O's, Midas, and some of the other typical "wet pets". Either way, they have always been one of my favorites in the hobby. This guy still has a lot of growing to do.
