Freaky! ....But the article said that the "consulted professional" couldn't count the gill opening on the side of the animal so he couldn't positively ID it as a lamprey. Was anyone else able to clearly see 7 holes on the side of the animal in the second shot? I'm assuming those are the "gill openings" they mentioned...I didn't get that one...Are they TRYING to incite mass hysteria??

Not really that big... Just a couple of "close-up" shots. The pic taken with the "fisherman" provide some scale, it MIGHT be 3' but probably just a normal full grown Lamprey...
