Hey Everyone,
I just picked up a new Johanna this weekend. I've been eyeing them at a store for a couple months (Pike dont sell quick at this place, lol.) I wanted another johanna, and noticed that this color variant is different than the one I already have, so ofcourse, I had to get one. I would like to appologize beforehand for the terrible picture quality (the camera is mediocre and my picture-taking-skills are no better).
Unfortunately this fish is stressed due to the journey home.. so it is very dark. Upon purchase, the entire body was a light olive green colour, with light red markings similar to the other johanna I have.
And a shot of the pattern that is all the way through the dorsal and the tail. I quite like this patterning, and didnt notice it the first time I saw these guys.
And for comparison, here are a couple shots of my other johanna. He is the 'fire pike' version. It is usually a light olive colour with bright red all over, and some black markings. Ran out of hikari about a month ago and he gets very dark on an NLS only diet. This is my most outgoing fish, and it NEVER stops moving (reason why neither picture is clear). It expects food every time i approach the tank (and I usually oblige it). Those scratches/fin tears are something he manages to do to himself at least once a week, but they dissapear within a few days usually. Its 8.5" long.
And for good measure im throwing in a shot of my female lenticulata (who even though it is my largest fish(12"), manages to be the most shy fish I own).
And also a couple pictures of my 4" Lepidota (I am correct in this identification, right?):
Thanks for looking! Again sorry for the terrible picture quality... I'll have to work on it (and clean the glass next time lol).
Cheers,
Chris
