got my 125g all-glass aquarium comin in tomorrow.. filtration is gonna be a rena xp3.. gonna transfer my tarpon and peacock bass in there. this will be my first 'big' tank, are there any precautions i should take in settin this up? pics will be comin soon.

thanks in advance.

ps i got everything, tank, stand, lights, hood, and the rena for $550. good deal?

Is it the older one made of thicker glass? Thats what I have, its a beast to move. Everything for 550 sounds like a good deal to me. I got my tank by itself for 75, and I have probably spent that much doing everything myself (which saves money). I have seen full 125 setups for over 1k so it definetly seems like a good deal to me

I'd try to add a little more filtration to a single xp3. Maybe a couple of AC HOBs or a big sponge and powerhead combo. If your up to it add a wet/dry to the tank :)

Whats it gonna sit on? I know a stand, I am talking about the floor?

depending on the floor you may have some work ahead.

sounds like a good deal.. you need more filter them just that xp3 my friend..

yea im gonna add some sponge n power heads.

its goin in my bedroom, the foundation is cement underneath the carpet.

Well then, not much work to do on the floor ...

If the old tank will be empty, move the filters to the new tank to avoid "new tank syndrome" Or transplant some media to kick start it..
