Just got shipped today! im so excited!

http://www.aquabid.com/cgi-bin/auction/auction.cgi?fwflowerhorn&1269980402

I'm having them live in my 55 which is extremely over filtered african cichlid tank for now.

Later on im thinking i may have them live with my discus in my 150? Any opinions?

And when i say extremely over filtered, it has 2 emperor 400s a eheim ecco 2336 canister and a fluval 405. :)

Even if they arent. I dont give a damn, the look amazing, and im excited either way :) lol

Ah right, sorry forgot that they are sooper cool hybrids. and not pure breds :-)

yes, this thread would be more appropriate in the hybrid section, but congrats on winning the auction and i'm glad you're excited about receiving these fish. i hope they work out well for you.

i would, however, rethink putting them with discus. bp's can get aggressive at times and discus, from all i've read, don't do well with larger aggressive fish.

:)

Ok thanks, i was thinking if they stay docile enough, i would put them in. We'll just have to see the behavior. If not i'll probably buy them a separate 75 gallon, and get like 2 more since i only got 3.

you might want to rethink that....they can get pretty big and bulky so 5 in a 75 would be pushing it quite a bit, especially if a pair forms...granted the males may not be fertile but that wouldn't stop them from laying and guarding the territory just as fervently as a fertile pair would.

:)

Ah, thats a good point. Its my first time ever owning these guys, ive researched quite a bit, but i always come up with ALOT of contradicting stuff. I guess i'll just stick with the 3 :)
