New Knife fish?

Hi guys,

I was at my odd ball store at the weekend. I saw a knife fish @ 2" and it was very thin. Grey body with the fin on the top all the way down the lenght of it. It grew to 150cm so I didnt buy it. But know im kicking myself that I didnt right the latin name down........any ideas??

Fin on top... Aba aba "knife". A mormyrid. The scientific name is Gymnarchus niloticus, and it's VERY aggressive.

Yup Aba Aba knife. They are big knifes, and look really good IMO.

Yeah well done guys, thats the one!! Im glad I resisted picking him up now......although a very nice looking fish!

if you look in the official knifethread section, there is a huge one in there thats quite impressive, but that is what you would have let yourself in for. true monster
